Job Description

River Rock Casino Resort, a subsidiary of Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, is Western Canada’s only Four-Diamond Casino Resort. We are currently searching for an experienced Host/Hostess to join our team within the Food and Beverage department, located in Richmond BC. The successful candidate will report to the Manager on Duty, Food and Beverage, and will be an integral part of our Food and Beverage team. The main responsibilities for this role will be seating guests. 


The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Seating guests in the area of choice and distributing menus
  • Advising guests of daily and weekly specials
  • Explaining how various menu items or beverages are prepared if applicable
  • Assisting with cleaning tables or counters, removing dishes and re-stocking when required
  • Performing opening and closing duties as required
  • Maintaining accurate records, waitlists and reservations
  • Maximizing seating
  • Performing cashier duties if applicable
  • Ensuring table availability by communicating with bussing staff
  • Liaising and communicating effectively with other operational departments
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Food & Beverage experience
  • POS experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • A commitment to continually increase your knowledge of our products and services in order to offer exceptional experiences to our guests
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development
