The BC Cancer Foundation (“BCCF”) is the fundraising partner of BC Cancer and the largest charitable funder for cancer research in B.C. Every dollar we raise stays right here at BC Cancer to advance research and enhance care for the people of B.C.

ABOUT YOU: We are looking for a Digital Marketing Specialist who is excited by the opportunity to craft and deliver meaningful and functional user experiences that inspire, engage and motivate audiences to action.

 

You are experienced in using research and data to develop segmentation strategies that inform the digital user journey across website and email marketing activity. You have an eye for turning data into personas, journey maps and roadmaps. You are passionate about enhancing online user experiences and technically adept in a number of digital platforms including email, website CMS, databases, HTML and Excel.

 

You are a collaborative colleague and thrive when managing multiple projects, priorities and deadlines. You have an impeccable eye for detail, and you like to plan, create and analyze.

 

Reporting to the digital lead, your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the optimization of online user experience across website and email by developing personas and donor journey mapping.
  • Define and drive email marketing segmentation strategy based on audience insights.
  • Support email database hygiene informed by industry best-practice and internal collaboration.
  • Participate in the development of an annual editorial calendar integrating email marketing, website activities/priorities, and key signature events
  • Liaise with key internal stakeholders to inform planning and curate content
  • Maintain, analyze and apply data analytics to optimize performance

 

Core knowledge + skills:

  • Experience defining audiences and creating personas and journey maps
  • Passion and demonstrated experience in digital problem-solving and analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of computer software including email platforms, website CMS, databases, HTML and Excel
  • Basic online writing skills and knowledge of effective user experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a number of teams and balance multiple projects and priorities

 

Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution, specializing in marketing, communications, or relevant
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a role that involves user experience, email strategy and project coordination
  • You are a quick learner, adaptable and approach life and work with positivity and passion

 

Nice to haves

  • Experience using online fundraising tools and platforms
  • Familiarity with Luminate Online and Wordpress
