Job Description

Position Summary:



Reporting to the VP Finance, this position is responsible for evaluating operational initiatives using data analytics and applying business acumen, to work with various teams to prepare supporting financial forecasts. The candidate ensures adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Takes a key role by providing effective coaching, counseling and guidance to operations colleagues, ensuring a positive and professional work experience for all employees.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Prepares business cases, financial projections, analysis and valuation of potential significant operational opportunities, including capital projects, operational and marketing initiatives, etc.
  • Assists with maintaining operational forecasts and works with various team to prepare annual budget, annual business plans, and other forecasting deliverables, as required.
  • Significant financial modelling experience and must be able to model out complex scenarios while presenting them clearly and concisely to executive leadership.
  • Gather and coordinate data to understand the impact to GCGC’s financials by interacting closely with operations, corporate accounting and taxation teams
  • Supports finance and operations teams with respect to new or amendments to contractual agreements including purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, leases, etc.
  • Performs ad hoc financial analysis to support key business decisions
  • Supports integration and implementation plans, meeting milestones, action and delivery dates; provide regular status reporting and flag transition issues
  • Reviews contractual agreements and prepare pro forma financial impact analysis of such arrangements
  • Prepares presentations and supporting materials for senior executives and the GCGC Board with respect to special projects
  • Ability to work in a disbursed environment and support teams geographically, currently across Canada
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management, employees and regulators
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with all appropriate operational personnel and departments

Education and Qualification Requirements:

  • Experience in FP&A, business development or a suitable combination of education and experience is an asset
  • CPA, CFA or other like professional designation is required
  • Computer literacy in MS Office; Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level
  • Minimum 2 years of financial modeling and forecasting experience
