Job Description

Chances Maple Ridge is currently on the lookout for a Manager, Security to join our high-performing Security team! Under the direction of the Regional Manager, Security & Director, Security, this position is responsible for the overall management and effectiveness of security operations at Chances Maple Ridge. Our new passionate leader will assist with the planning and directing of all security initiatives, provide a learning and mentoring environment for the security team, while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Additionally, our next Manager, Security will develop performance objectives, deliver performance evaluations, and will actively participate in the recruitment and hiring process. The successful goal–oriented individual will implement all new security strategic plans as directed. Are you our next experienced and driven leader?

 

Duties and Responsibilities Include:


• Providing leadership, direction and mentoring to the security operation
• Monitoring the site security budget; reporting variances; making recommendations
• Responding to and resolving security issues as escalated
• Overseeing various critical security systems (e.g., Key Control, Access Control, SIMS, Threat Management System
• Developing and implementing training for security operations; ensures team members are trained in Emergency Response Procedures
• Preparing and maintaining site-specific tactical responses to emergency events; administering evacuations; preparing evacuation checklists
• Identifying the need for investigations as directed
• Reviewing reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities and other reports as requested
• Overseeing the site First Aid Program
• Conducts on-going site risk assessments; identifies opportunities for efficiencies
• Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
• Performing other duties as assigned or directed


Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:


• Post-Secondary education in criminology or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
• Minimum 5 years of security experience in a gaming environment; minimum 2-year management experience
• Computer literacy in MS Office
• Understanding of yourself as well as others when communicating with team members and guests
• A passion for providing Customer Service to our internal and external guests in the quest of achieving service excellence
• Serving It Right, Smart Serve or IGB certification, or the ability to obtain a Serving it Right Certification
• Must be willing to recertify for Use of Force every 3 years
• Occupational First Aid Level 2 an asset
• Can understand, speak, and write English, fluency in other languages an asset
• Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
• The ability to successfully obtain a criminal record check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
