Job Description

Great Canadian Gaming Corporation is seeking for a Procruement Assistant to join its team. Under the general direction of the Strategic Sourcing Specialist, this role is responsible for assisting with the acquisition of goods and services for the Company’s properties. 


Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinates approval routes based on approved organizational charts
  • Responsible for Procurement set-up (item master) in Company System
  • Provides guidance regarding Vendor National Contracts Management (expiry dates, price changes/disputes, product discontinuations/revisions, and vendor notification)
  • Monitors the National Procurement email inbox; responds and/or redirects as required
  • Coordinates vendor rebates with Accounts Payable, including sales reporting gathering and submission
  • Assists with the coordination of the RFQ and/or RFP processes, with regards to price comparisons
  • Gathers and assesses new vendor documents for the purpose of tracking in the Vendor Contract Management System (VCMS)
  • Updates policies, templates and reference materials for the VCMS
  • Coordinates the monthly Procurement Newsletter; engages with stakeholders to obtain content, forwards for review and distributes once approved
  • Completes due diligence assessments for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and the Alcholo and Gaming Commission of Ontari (AGCO)
  • Creates Purchase Orders for the purchase of items, such as office supplies, break room necessities, business cards, gift cards, etc., as required
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, team members and vendors
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Manages other initiatives as required

 Education and Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative role within a fast paced environment; previous experience in a highly regulated corporate setting an asset
  • Prior experience within hospitality and/or gaming an asset
  • High School Diploma; Post-secondary education in a relative field or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Computer literacy in MS Office; Microsoft SharePoint experience an asset
  • Experience with JD Edwards, Oracle or similar ERP
  • Ability to exceed internal and external guest expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Able to work independently and as part of a diverse team
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
