Wok/Noodle Bar Cook 2

Status: Part-time 



Reporting to the Chef, the Second Cook – Wok/Noodle Bar is responsible for providing exceptional food quality for employees and guests. This role requires the incumbent to demonstrate strong knowledge of food safety and ensuring that all cleaning and sanitation requirements are always adhered to.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills are always required to be displayed
  • Prepare set up and arrange ingredients for the 1st Wok/Noodle Bar Cooks daily
  • Maintain adequate ingredients to respond to quick ordering and service
  • Provide support to 1st Wok/Noodle Bar Cooks by maintaining work areas at the Noodle Bar
  • Prepare ingredients as per recipes and directions provided
  • Control waste and spoilage and restock low items during shift
  • Ensure all prep, re-stocking and cleaning is completed prior to the end of the shift
  • Assist with duties of other employees as needed
  • Always Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area
  • Inspect work area daily and report any hazards and/or defective equipment to the Chef immediately
  • Perform other duties as required by the Chef


Education and Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of kitchen experience, preferably some with Asian cuisine experience
  • Must be WHMIS certified
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the causes of food poisoning and method of prevention
  • Ability to work independently or as a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform tasks and duties effectively and safely within prescribed time limits
  • The ability to obtain a Smart Serve Certification
  • The ability to successfully pass a criminal record and credit check
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese and/or Mandarin, considered an asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills in order maintain a good rapport with customers and employees.
