Job Description

Great Blue Heron Casino is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Supervisor in our Housekeeping Department.  Under the general direction of the Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of Housekeepers and Washroom Attendants while maintaining a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills are required to be displayed at all times
  • Responsible for the supervision of housekeeping employees and daily housekeeping operations to ensure cleanliness of the Casino
  • Schedule and replace absent employees to ensure department is fully staffed
  • Prepare and delegate cleaning schedule and coordinate activities with other departments as required
  • Conduct daily inspection of assigned areas to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are maintained
  • Safeguard all confidential information
  • Assist housekeeping staff in performing daily requirements as required.
  • Ensure adherence to company’s policies and procedures
  • Assist Facilities Manager in the development of employee competencies, morale and efficiency as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial cleaning experience, preferably in a supervisory role
  • Previous supervisory experience within a unionized environment preferred.
  • Specific knowledge of floor care, commercial cleaning products, WHMIS
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
