Hastings Racecourse & Casino is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of Outrider A.M. to join our Racing Department, under the supervision of the Racing Secretary. This seasonal hourly position includes early morning shifts, hours varies.
SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS:
On horseback, catch / pick up stray horses as required
Acts as a track official during morning track hours. Monitors all track activity and reports any violations to Stewards and/or Racing Operations Manager.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Grade 12 education
Must be able to provide own horse(s); horses must be sound and fit for required duties
Highly skilled horseback rider; experience in a similar capacity preferred
Physical ability to perform duties to required level
Knowledge re operations and regulations pertaining to thoroughbred horse racing preferred
Good inter-personal skills
Ability to work without direct supervision

- Must successfully pass a criminal record and credit check by the Gaming Policy & Enforcement Branch - Racing
