Job Description

Great Canadian is looking to add an experienced and driven Regional Manager, Human Resources to provide expertise and guidance to our three amazing Chances properties in Chilliwack, Dawson Creek & Maple Ridge. Primarily based out of Maple Ridge and Chilliwack and reporting to the Director of Operations, the Regional Manager, Human Resources will support operations and deliver strategic HR services to a growing company known for providing superior guest experiences. The successful individual will be a valued member of the management team and will be responsible for the overall guidance of the Human Resources needs at our three Chances properties. This key leadership role will be responsible for aligning site strategy with company objectives while being a change champion. Ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures, the successful candidate will motivate and lead by example, and will actively participate in the recruitment and hiring process.

 

Duties and responsibilities for our next Regional Manager, Human Resources will include:

  • Provides leadership, guidance and mentoring to the Human Resource operations; develops performance objectives and conducts performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Drives faster adoption, higher utilization and greater proficiency of new or revised initiatives in the company to increase benefit realization, value creation and the achievement of results and outcomes
  • Oversees programs such as succession planning, ability management, recruitment, onboarding, training & development, attendance, health & safety, progressive discipline, etc.
  • Implements HR strategic plans; ensures site operations align with Shared Services objectives
  • Provides HR support to site managers and team members; provides guidance on conflict resolution, performance management, career development and succession planning
  • Identifies internal and external employment issues and trends; recommends improvements, efficiencies and training opportunities; assists with training implementations and deliveries
  • Conducts or assists in confidential workplace investigations
  • Assists management in resolving issues as they are escalated
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management, employees and regulators
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Encourages and provides Great Experiences and Memories on a daily basis
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in HR or suitable combination of education and experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of Human Resources experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or management experience
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) or other HR designation an asset

  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Strong knowledge of all applications of MS Office; HRIS experience required (JDE/Oracle preferred); payroll processing experience an asset; time and attendance software experience an asset
  • Superior written and verbal communication ability with excellent interpersonal skills and judgment, strong organizational skills and demonstrated service excellence with a proven track- record of being responsive, meeting deadlines and performing to measurable outcomes

Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The hours of work will be based on operational needs.
