Job Description

Great Canadian Gaming is looking for our next GREAT team member to join us as Business Intelligence Analyst at our properties in the West GTA. 


Reporting to the Manager, Business Intelligence, this position is responsible for compiling and analyzing data, building reports and for making recommendations for effective strategies for player retention and revenue growth. The Business Intelligence Analyst ensures adherence to all policies and procedures motivates and leads by example, and provides a learning environment.

Duties and responsibilities for our next Business Intelligence Analyst will include:

  • Leading and supporting the tracking and reporting of results of individual player metrics and overall casino performance
  • Leading and supporting the tracking and reporting of results of marketing campaigns in terms of effectiveness and event participation (e.g., revenue generation, redemption percentage, ROI)
  • Providing analysis, strategies and recommendations for key stakeholders
  • Developing tools for Marketing campaigns, creating SQL code, creating BI reports and dashboards for the management of the tools
  • Reviewing business processes and systems for improvements in efficacy and efficiency
  • Working closely with stakeholders to determine requirements for data, reports, analyses, metadata, training, service levels, data quality and performance
  • Responding promptly and fully to requests from executives or operating managers for ad hoc analyses, reports and other management information services on a consultative basis
  • Collaborating with various cross-function teams to achieve business results
  • Coordinating and managing ongoing EFM vendor service delivery including Guest Experience Survey program and ad-hoc surveys
  • Ensuring compliance with all data management policies and procedures, including crown corporation partners
  • Communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Building strong working relationships with management, guests and team members
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed


Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in science, technology, computer science, engineering, math, economics, business, statistics or an equivalent field with a focus on business intelligence & analytics
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business intelligence/data analytics including significant experience with:
    • MS SQL Server (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, etc.)
    • BI Tools (Tableau, Cognos, MSPowerBI, etc.)
  • Hands-on knowledge writing SQL, SQL Query optimization and experience with MS SQL Server technologies is required
  • Working knowledge of R is an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English in order to deliver analytical insights to stakeholder groups
  • Knowledge of statistical concepts in support of analysis and reporting
  • A curious analytical mind, strong attention to detail and quick learner
  • Ability and willingness to work under a strictly regulated data management environment
  • Ability to obtain registration with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
