General Description of Job

The Cage Cashier is directly responsible for the operations of the front window, transactions with the count room, and assisting with cart transfers as required by the Cage Supervisor.  The cashier is to promote and maintain the utmost integrity and the highest calibre patron service to all internal and external patrons of Casino New/Nouveau Brunswick, while adhering to all rules and regulations set forth by the company, the department and the New Brunswick Lotteries and Gaming Corporation (NBLGC).  Other duties include, but are not limited to: all cage transactions occurring during the shift which includes preparing bank deposits, overseeing cash, processing, balancing, verifying of all paperwork, issue jackpots, and preparing fills and balance kiosk's. 

 

Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time; bend, stoop or kneel as required
  • Work with tools or equipment pertaining to job requirements
  • Perform job tasks and remain vigilant in the event of an emergency
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull heavy objects of approximately 40 pounds
  • Must be available to work flexible hours.  The Casino Complex is an approved 24/7 operation.
  • Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position, and/or obtain and maintain an NBLGC license registration
  • Must have employment eligibility in Canada

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of one year previous banking or money handling skills preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing
  • To logically and independently plan, organize, and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to perceive quality of work, read material and review documents, receive/follow /apply instructions
  • Possess high-quality interpersonal skills
  • Set and achieve high standards of performance and customer service skills
  • The capabilities to multi task under time constraints.
  • Perform basic math skills and use problem solving skills
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is preferred
