Job Description

Great Canadian Gaming Corporation is looking for our next GREAT colleague to join us as Director, Internal Audit - Ontario. 


Reporting to the Board of Directors and under the direction of the Vice President, Legal, the Director, Internal Audit is responsible for coordinating and directing the Company’s internal audit function in a cost-effective manner. The incumbent will ensure adherence to all policies and procedures, while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.


Duties and responsibilities for our next Director, Internal Audit will include:

  • Directing and overseeing the Company’s Ontario Internal Audit team including coordinating efforts with external auditors
  • Ensuring timely completion of control testing required to support the Company’s periodic CEO/CFO certification process, operational and regulatory audits across the property portfolio in multiple gaming jurisdictions
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Staying abreast of industry trends and issues related to the gaming industry, regulatory compliance and internal audit best practices
  • Performing other relevant duties as assigned

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Certified Internal Audit (CIA) designation required
  • CPA, MBA or other relevant advanced degree is required
  • 10+ years of professional work experience with a strong background in finance, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity
  • Ability to deliver complex information in clear, concise, and relevant written and verbal manner using appropriate media
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to consult with executive and line leadership and influence without authority
  • Highly refined analytical skills
  • Ability to anticipate scenarios and develop strategy options while remaining open minded to alternatives
  • Ability to lead others and manage their performance
  • Computer literacy in MS Office; advanced level; JD Edwards, Cognos and ACL GRC an asset
