Under the supervision of the Manager, Direct & Digital Marketing, the Email Marketing Specialist will be responsible for web development such as websites, microsites and desktop and mobile landing pages, and taking marketing design projects from concept to launch.This position is located at Hard Rock Casino Vancouver.

 

Duties and responsibilities for our next Email Marketing Specialist will include:

  • Work closely with our Digital Marketing Manager to build our overall email marketing strategy and calendar
  • Be responsible for implementing an email strategy—you’ll strategize, design prioritize, track, and optimize
  • Performs day-to-day hands-on email marketing activities including email campaign set-up, scheduling, testing, tagging and deployment of one-time, recurring, triggered personalized and dynamic content driven campaigns
  • With the guidance of Digital Marketing Manager work cross-functionally with members of our BI, Creative, teams to develop and execute email marketing strategies for customers, including A/B and multivariate tests
  • Coding emails using HTML and CSS based off of wireframe layouts, ensuring responsiveness and consistency across all screen sizes, devices, and email platforms
  • Helping maintain balance between visual appeal and functionality of websites
  • Visual design of interactive solutions including (but not limited to) websites, banner advertising, emails, landing pages, social media and web apps
  • Creating and maintaining the technical and graphics aspects of our website
  • Continual maintenance and updating of all websites, web applications and databases
  • Designing graphics, animations and manipulate digital images
  • Creating and maintaining reporting and dashboards to correlate data from Google Analytics, social properties, etc. to track and improve performance and measure against KPIs
  • Working with the Direct & Digital Marketing Team to track, measure, and optimize user interaction and maintain brand consistency
  • Regularly presenting work for review and feedback
  • Staying abreast of and recommends email marketing best practices with coding, design, and testing of email campaigns.
  • Flawlessly executing email campaigns within marketing automation platform, including customer targeting, HTML set-up, and basic deliverability reporting
  • Understanding and optimizing operational workflow, with focus on global scalability and automation
  • Using customer behavior, insights and prior campaign results to develop contact strategies/plans to achieve financial targets and optimize customer lifetime value
  • Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPI’s) including financial performance, email engagement and deliverability
  • Building beautiful and engaging emails that are responsive
  • Performing regular reporting to demonstrate how your work is impacting the business
  • Owning, improving, and operating all technical aspects of the entire email marketing program
  • Troubleshooting technical issue related to HTML templates, list segmentation, and other aspects of email execution
  • Monitoring email deliverability and address any potential issues
  • Managing the email mix to ensure balance of promotional vs informational content
  • Conducting weekly planning meetings with key stakeholders to review and adjust schedules
  • Researching current trends and suggests improvements to elevate existing campaigns
  • Planning tracking strategy for campaigns prior to launch
  • Tracking email performance and reports on KPIs

  • Post-secondary education in Digital Marketing or related field
  • 1-3 years email marketing experience, including development and execution of email campaign marketing strategies
  • Experience with WordPress development required; experience with additional CMS an asset
  • Solid foundation in the principles of user experience design and user interface design
  • Google Analytics experience and use is an asset
  • Proficient skills using Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Expertise and hands on experience with web applications and programming languages such as HTML5, CSS,
  • An asset: JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, Ajax, jQuery, and best-practice digital design is required
  • Has worked with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Oracle,Selligent or Mailchimp Pro
  • A strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, mobile optimization, general web functions and standards, responsive design, and information architecture
  • Strong understanding of email best practices
  • Ability to design, plan, program and execute email-marketing campaigns with standard compliance and email client compatibility in mind
  • Experience with User Journeys and User Testing
  • The desire to build new things, and the ability to execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in working cross-functionally across the company and ability to work in a small team environment
  • Ability to communicate thought behind all design decisions
  • An ability to find practical solutions to problems
  • Excellent time management, planning and execution skills
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Serving It Right certificate
  • The ability to successfully obtain or maintain a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
  • Ability to travel among sites throughout the Lower Mainland and access to reliable transportation
