Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Informs guests of any daily specials
  • Explains how various menu items or beverages are prepared if applicable
  • Takes the guests orders and makes recommendations
  • Serves the guests and checks to ensure satisfaction
  • Prepares food and beverages if applicable
  • Resolves guests issues or asks management for assistance
  • Presents bill upon request and takes payment in the absence of a cashier
  • Cleans tables or counters, removes dishes and re-stocks where applicable
  • Performs opening or closing duties as required
  • Counts cash float at end of shift if applicable
  • Covers other servers’ sections when required
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1 year serving experience
  • Serving it Right Certificate
  • Post Secondary hospitality or hotel education an asset
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • POS experience
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, strong communication & organizational skills
  • A passion for providing the Essential Elements of Excellence Guest Service to our internal and external guests
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, busy environment
  • Possess a high level of honesty and integrity
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to successfully obtain a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
