Job Description

Position Summary:

Chances Dawson Creek is on the lookout for a 4th Cook who is ready to jump on the line and kick it up a notch. In the role of 4th Cook you will reporting to the Chef de Cuisine and will be responsible for the preparation of food items and maintaining all company standards through adherence to all safety and hygiene policies and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing, pre-cooking and/or cooking food products as directed
  • Preparing “mise en place” (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required for high volume production
  • Cleaning kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures
  • Dishwashing
  • Receiving stock
  • Labeling, dating, storing and rotating food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas
  • Counting inventory as directed
  • Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests and employees)
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety laws and other statutory regulations
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed

 Successful Candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Previous culinary experience & education an asset
  • Food Safe Level 1 & Serving it Right Certifications (or willing to obtain)
  • WHIMIS certificate an asset
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Criminal Record and Credit Check
  • Good organizational skills
  • Professional attitude and appearance, strong interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Dependable and reliable with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays
