Position Summary:

Chances Dawson Creek is currently on the lookout for a vibrant and passionate Security Officer interested in furthering their career in our Security/Surveillance Department. Under the direct supervision of the Security Manger and Security Supervisors, our Security Officer will be responsible for the safety and protection of employees, guests, and company assets. Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Enforcing restricted access by unauthorized persons
  • Observing cashier transactions, slot drops, escorts cash and cash equivalent movements
  • Tagging and reporting found property; transferring items to Lost and Found
  • Conducting regular patrols of the facility interior and exterior as directed
  • Escorting guests and employees as directed
  • Performing identification checks
  • Referring disputes to the Supervisor, Security
  • Designated Security Officers may be required to attend to First Aid incidents, after completing an Occupation First Aid course. The designation will be at the discretion of the Security Manager.
  • Enrolling guests in the Self-Exclusion Program at some locations
  • Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Complies with licensing laws, health and safety laws and other statutory regulations
  • Performing duties surrounding surveillance needs as required
  • Monitoring, documenting and reporting internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities; prepares electronic statements via a non-gaming record keeping system
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed

 Successful Candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous security experience an asset but not required
  • Gaming Security Officer training and additional training as requested
  • Serving It Right Certification (or willing to obtain)
  • Can understand, speak and write English; fluency in other languages an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Criminal Record and Credit Check
  • Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays
