Job Description

Chances Dawson Creek is currently looking for a vibrant full-time Gaming Attendant. Under the direct supervision of the Gaming Manager, this position is responsible for a variety of duties including but not limited to, customer service, selling bingo cards, cash handling, calling games and completing detailed paper work, all while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees and ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Welcoming, directing and serving guests promptly, professionally and positively
  • Verifying and processing jackpots, short pays, and wallet pays; canceling credits and hand-pays; making change; clearing tilts and jams; and replenishing ticket inventory
  • Conducting preventative maintenance on slot machines as required
  • Monitoring and reporting all irregular or suspicious activities
  • Assisting customers with off-track betting
  • Selling paper cards and helping to complete any other duties in preparation for the sessions
  • Alerting the Caller to bingos prior to another number being called
  • Calling winning bingos back to the caller
  • Complying with licensing laws, health and safety laws and other statutory regulations
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy gaming floor as required
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed
  • Responsible for the redemption of gaming vouchers in a pleasant and professional manner in compliance with cash handling procedures, internal controls, company policies and procedures and/or BC Lottery Corporation (BCLC) policies and procedures; report any violations and escalate to the appropriate level as necessary
  • Processing Jackpot payments
  • Balancing Cash Float at the beginning and end of shifts, and keeping working areas organized
  • Keeping control over Cash Desk keys and ensuring their return to the Cage Supervisor at the end of the shift
  • Completing Foreign Currency exchanges, buy backs and Travelers’ Cheques as per BCLC policy
  • Completing currency exchanges and transactions, tracking player financial activities and completing required reports to comply with the Criminal Code of Canada Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering), Terrorist Financing Act/Regulations and the BC Lottery Corporation policies and procedures
  • Ensuring all transactions are processed and recorded properly in the various electronic systems operating in the Cash Cage (CMS-Casino Management System; IVS-Integrated Voucher System; etc.)
  • Acquiring and maintaining a strong knowledge of all Cash Cage policies and procedures
  • Maintaining a professional, constructive and supportive work environment with all Casino staff, by practicing open communication and effective team efforts
  • Preserving Casino and guest confidentiality while at work and away from work

Successful Candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum two years cash handling experience in a customer service position
  • Ability to operate adding machines, currency counters and other related equipment
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Criminal Record and Credit Check
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Professional attitude and appearance, strong interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Must possess excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Dependable and reliable with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
  • Serving It Right Certification

Compensation

Chances offers $11.40 per hour plus tips, an extended benefits plan which includes medical, dental, vision care and MSP coverage, to eligible employees after 6consecutive months of employment, as well as provides growth opportunities to our rising stars
