Job Description

The Well Public House, located in Casino Nanaimo, is currently seeking a part-time Restaurant Server! If you enjoy creating great experiences and memories for your guests, then apply to be a part of our amazing Food & Beverage team. Under the direction of the Food & Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for taking orders from the restaurant guests as well as serving food and beverages.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Provide patrons with the best service possible in a professional manner
  • Sell food and beverage with an upbeat and positive attitude
  • Possess a strong knowledge of menu items and features offered
  • Use of P.O.S. Micros system; handling of cash and credit; balancing of sales at end of shift
  • Clean unfinished products, empty glasses, plates, etc.
  • Make sure tables and chairs are organized in sections
  • Restock, organize and clean all related work equipment and areas throughout shift
  • Adhere to all regulations governing the service of alcohol
  • Maintain a valid Serving It Right certificate
  • Assist co-workers as needed and/or directed
  • Adhere to all policies as they relate to functions of the position.
  • Maintain and encourage a respectful workplace
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Minimum one year relevant experience in a high volume environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet stipulated deadlines
  • Cash handling experience
  • Valid Serving It Right certificate
  • Previous Micros or other P.O.S. experience considered an asset
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Criminal     Record and Credit Check
  • Excellent customer service and people skills
  • Professional attitude and appearance, strong interpersonal skills, and a team player
  • Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays.
