Job Description

New and exciting things are in the works at Elements Casino, including great career opportunities. Right now we’re looking for outstanding people like you to join our team.

We’re looking for outgoing, professional, guest service driven individuals who want to become Card Dealers. You will be responsible for providing Unrivaled Personalized Service to our guests. Card Dealers are initially trained in Blackjack, and will have the opportunity to learn many other card games during their career. This position requires flexibility for scheduling, shifts will include evenings, graveyards, holidays, and weekends. You must successfully complete a 14 day paid training course. The training will be for Blackjack which is entry level for Dealers. All training is conducted at the Learning Centre located at 8920 Charles Street in Richmond (across the Bridgeport Bus Loop). The next course is slated for March 8, 2018 — March 23, 2018 from 8:00pm until 4:00am. This course requires 100% attendance, as well as additional study time at home is crucial in order to successfully complete the course. Passing the course is a condition of on-going permanent employment as a dealer with Great Canadian.

 

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

 

  • Conducting all games in a precise, efficient and secure manner, according to policies and procedures, licensing laws and statutory regulations;
  • Controlling the order of play; closing bets at the appropriate time and maintaining game integrity;
  • Exchanging guest cash and promotional vouchers for value chips;
  • Engaging our guests and encouraging their use of other property features;
  • Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and team members);
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS DEMONSTRATED BY SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES:

 

  • High school diploma required, post secondary education an asset;
  • Strong communication and mathematical skills;
  • Proven guest service skills with a strong ability to follow policies, procedures and practices;
  • Manually dexterity and able to stand for long periods of time;
  • Ability to adapt and work a flexible schedule;
  • Have access to reliable transportation;
  • Understanding of yourself and others when communicating with team members and guests;
  • The ability to successfully maintain/obtain a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB);
  • Serving it Right Certification, or ability to obtain a Serving it Right Certification.
