Job Description


Position Summary:

Under the direction of the General Manager, this position is responsible for the overall management of marketing operations at the site level. Assists with the implementation of corporate marketing directives and the planning and directing of the operations marketing strategies. Spearheads and implements all new operations marketing initiatives and ensures site marketing functions align with corporate objectives. Contributes to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Motivates, leads by example and provides a learning environment. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Plans, directs and implements the site marketing program, including all details throughout a promotion, campaign or special event (e.g., staff incentives, prize packages, supplier commitments, property décor, collateral placement, auditing, etc.)
  • Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to the Guest Services Department; develops performance objectives and delivers performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Educates and motivates site staff on entertainment, promotions and special events; maximizes awareness and participation from staff and guests
  • Liaises with operations to report on site marketing results (e.g., event revenue, guest and employee feedback, etc.)
  • Supports the GEM program with staff awareness initiatives and measurement of guest satisfaction
  • Drafts annual site marketing plan and budget; maintains budgeted labour and promotional costs for campaigns and special events
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, employees, vendors and regulators
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Required Education and Experience:

  • Post- secondary education in Marketing, Tourism, Hospitality, Public Relations, Advertising or Management
  • Minimum 4 years of marketing experience; 2 years of gaming or hospitality experience preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of people management and progressive leadership experience
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Computer literacy in MS Office

Work Environment Considerations:  

  • Non-traditional work hours – candidates must be willing and available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as business needs require.
