Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Director, Technical Development, this position is responsible for confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Great Canadian IT environment, while ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures and contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. The incumbent will oversee, mentor and motivate the IT Security team to ensure it delivers services efficiently and effectively. Please note this is a contract position with an expected end date of February 2019. 

 

Duties and responsibilities for our next Manager, IT Security will include:

  • Responsibility for overall security and integrity of the organization’s server, datacenter, network, and desktop environments
  • Evaluating, designing, implementing and supporting security architecture in alignment with technical and business goals, and objectives and standards
  • Leading and coordinating problem management activities, providing 3rd level technical support
  • Leading technical research and development to enable continuous improvement within the IT Security department
  • Collaborating with Network, System and Application Architects to ensure stable, secure and robust enterprise architecture
  • Leading and developing Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) framework for effective network management and security
  • Process owner of Incident Response Plan, in collaboration with other corporate and operational departments
  • Leader in identifying company-wide information security needs and collaborates with colleagues and customers to develop and implement solutions
  • Process owner for user onboarding and termination processes
  • Reviewing and evaluating new technologies/applications prior to deployment to ensure that the applications adhere to IT security policies and standards
  • Developing and designing system and network security controls, including reviewing the configuration of firewall and proxy settings
  • Developing change requests including implementation, communication, testing and backout plans
  • Central point of contact for all audit-related questions; preparing formal audit responses and action plans for review
  • Providing leadership, direction and mentorship to direct reports
  • Communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Building strong working relationships with guests and employees and vendors
  • Complying with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performing other duties as assigned or directed

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT support and customer service
  • Post-secondary education in IT or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSK, CISA, CISM are an asset
  • Proven experience in developing IT security architecture
  • Exposure with various security tools such as Firewall, Vulnerability Assessment Penetration Testing, Anti-Virus Software and Endpoint Security
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and positive service-oriented communication
