Job Description

We are currently on the look out for an excellent team members to fill the position of Host or Hostess in our brand new restaurant— The Well Public House. Under the supervision of the F& B Manager, this position is responsible for greeting and seating guests with regard to operational guidelines while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. This position may be performed in the restaurant, on the casino floor, or at the bar.

 The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications: 

  • Greet guests by name wherever possible
  • Seat guests in area of choice and distributes menus; advises guests of daily or weekly specials
  • Explains how various menu items or beverages are prepared
  • Assists with cleaning tables or counters; removes dishes and re-stocks when required
  • Performs opening or closing duties as required
  • Maintains accurate records, wait lists and reservations
  • Ensures table availability through communication with bussing and serving staff; maximizes seating arrangements
  • Performs server duties if applicable; counts cash float at end of shift if applicable
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and employees
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

  • Professional Appearance
  • Minimum 1 year experience serving in a restaurant environment
  • POS knowledge is an asset
  • Grade 12 education preferred
  • Serving It Right certification
  • Food Safe certification

Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The hours of work will be based on customer and business needs.
