The Surveillance Operator is responsible for monitoring all areas of the property and maintaining documentation, logs, and records physically and electronically .   • Monitoring, documenting and reporting violations regarding large cash/cash equivalent transactions, excluded and self-excluded guests and unauthorized access;
  • Maintaining logs; preparing daily reports; storing records securely for evidence purposes;
  • Monitoring, documenting and reporting on the condition of surveillance facilities and equipment;
  • Answering internal and external telephone calls;
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of the sections of the Gaming Control Act of BC, the Criminal Code of Canada, and BCLC policies applicable to casino operational activity;
  • Communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments;
  • Building strong working relationships with guests and team members;
  • Complying with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations;
  • Performing other duties as required.




  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to focus on monitors for long periods of time;
  • Computer proficiency is a requirement; and strong typing abilities are an asset;
  • Gaming knowledge & surveillance experience as well as background experience in Criminology an asset;
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, strong communication & organizational skills
  • Understanding of yourself as well as others when communicating with team members and guests
  • A passion for providing the Essential Elements of Excellence Guest Service to our internal and external guests
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, busy environment
  • Possess a high level of honesty and integrity
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Serving it Right, or the ability to successfully obtain a Serving It Right certification
  • Ability to successfully obtain a criminal record and credit check through the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB)
