Job Description

Great Canadian Gaming Corporation is a Canadian based company that operates gaming, entertainment and hospitality facilities in British Columbia, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Washington State. The Company has 21 gaming properties, which consists of twelve casinos, including a four Diamond resort hotel in Richmond, BC and a four star hotel in Moncton, NB, four horse racetrack casinos, three community gaming centres and one commercial bingo hall. Great Canadian is looking for our next GREAT colleague to join us as our IT Security Administrator. 


Under the supervision of the Manager, IT Security, this position is responsible for administering and maintaining security, confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Ontario Gaming East Limited Partnership (OGELP) IT environment, as well as providing backup and support to other Great Canadian IT environments. 


You can expect to apply your skills and qualifications through the following key accountabilities:

  • Maintain the content and distribution of the IT Security Policy including training and ongoing communication with all stakeholders
  • Assist with identifying company-wide information security needs and collaborate with colleagues and customers to implement solutions
  • Assist with problem management activities; provide 1st and 2nd level technical support
  • Research, identify, evaluate and recommend security solutions, standards, and policies and procedures that protect information assets
  • Audit systems, event logs, and processes; analyzes security-related events in conjunction with the IT Security Policy
  • Administer and maintain the LDAP directory for corporate network access rights; group policy management, patch management
  • Review existing applications periodically; evaluate new applications prior to installation
  • Implement and administer system and network security controls, including reviewing the configuration of firewall and proxy settings
  • Develop change requests including implementation, communication, testing and backout plans
  • Assist in implementation of Incident Response Plan, in collaboration with other corporate and operational departments
  • Assist in IT audit responses and implementation of remediation steps based on findings
  • Identify opportunities and proposes solutions for continuous improvement
  • Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Build strong working relationships with guests and employees and vendors
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support and customer service
  • Post-secondary education in IT or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and positive service-oriented communication
  • Proven experience with LDAP, group policies and patching
  • Proven troubleshooting experience for O/S, application, network, workstation and laptop technologies
