Job Description

Under the direction of the Director, Technology Continuity, the Manager, Enterprise Application Team position is responsible for the Corporation's application architecture, supporting application and/or database solutions to meet corporate objectives and ensuring all enterprise application systems optimally co-exist and operate in accordance with functional design specifications. Oversee, mentor and motivate the application team to ensure it delivers all the application and database services efficiently and effectively, while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees, the candidate will ensure adherence to all policies and procedures Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Actively participates in the recruitment, budgeting and strategic planning process.


Duties and responsibilities for our next Manager, Enterprise Application Team will include:

  • Responsible for overall performance, security, availability and integrity of the Corporation’s application and database environments.
  • Supporting and evaluating the application systems and enterprise architecture in alignment with technical and business goals, objectives and standards
  • Providing leadership, direction and mentoring to direct reports including delivery of annual performance reviews.
  • Leading and coordinating problem management activities and provision 3rd level technical support
  • Leading technical research and development to enable continuing innovation
  • Collaborating with Network and System Architects to ensure stable and robust enterprise architecture.
  • Providing strategic integrated application systems planning and recommend new or emerging technologies in support of corporate and business goals.
  • Providing technical consultation to lines of business and IT management to ensure the development of efficient application systems
  • Maintaining documentation and provides reports on maintenance contracts, SLAs and warranty information of application and database assets.
  • Reviewing and evaluating change requests ensuring appropriate implementation, communication, testing and back out plans with delegated approval authority.
  • Identifying of opportunities and proposal of solutions for continuous improvement
  • Designing, evaluating and approving technical processes for application infrastructure
  • Following IT policies and procedures and maintains working knowledge of utilized technologies
  • Communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments

  • Extensive experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One in medium to large-sized organizations
  • Business reporting experience using Cognos and Microsoft reporting tools
  • Experience managing database administration including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environment
  • 10+ years of experience in IT with proven experience designing and integrating enterprise applications in a complex environment.
  • Post-secondary degree in IT or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • Advanced computer literacy in MS Office and modelling tools.
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and positive service oriented communication
  • Proven troubleshooting experience for O/S, application, network, workstation and laptop technologies
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
