We have the right job for you…. We are currently on the look-out for an excellent team member to fill the position of Commis Chef for our new brand The Well Public House. Under the supervision of the Kitchen Manager our next Commis Chef will be responsible for the execution of menu item production, maintaining all company standards and through adherence to all safety and hygiene policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcome work environment for all employees.
Duties and Responsibilities of our Commis Chef include:
Preparing, pre-cooking and/or cooking food products as directed
Cleaning kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures
Labeling, dating, storing and rotating in appropriate storage areas
Counting inventory as directed
Attending monthly culinary meetings
Liaising and communicating effectively with all appropriate operational departments
Developing and cultivating strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and employees)
Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Performing other duties as assigned or directed
Education and Qualification Requirements:
Culinary experience an asset
Enrollment or completion of the ITA apprentice program a plus
Level 1 Food Safe Certification
Serving It Right Certification
The ability to successfully obtain a Criminal Record and Credit Check
Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
