Position Sumary:


Chances Chilliwack is on the lookout for a  Third Cook to join our Food and Beverage department. Our Third Cook will work closely with our Sous Chef and culinary team to create and prepare a variety of dishes from the freshest ingredients for our a la carte menu and banquet functions, as well as perform some butchering of meat and poultry.  If this sounds like something you want to get in line for, we want to hear from you! Duties and Responsibilities Include: 

  • Assist culinary team
  • Knowledge of all culinary aspects
  • Cleaning and organizing of all related work equipment and areas
  • Preparation and stocking for daily operation
  • Butchering of meats and poultry
  • Basic soup and sauce preparation
  • Basic dessert preparation
  • Able to cut, slice, chop and peel vegetables and fruits
  • Restocking, cleaning and organizing all related work equipment and areas
  • Prepare food to quality and presentation standards, Ensuring all guidelines and recipes are met
  • Positive and professional interaction between co-workers
  • Input ideas for new menu items, Portion control and quality of items, Food requisitions
  • Any other duties as assigned or directed


As a Successful Candidate YOU will possess the following qualifications: 

  • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Able to read, understand and follow recipes
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a high volume restaurant(s) and banquet experience
  • Valid Food Safe Certificate
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass a criminal record check
  • WHMIS is an asset
  • Outgoing, professional, customer driven individual with strong people skills
  • Must be a team player who works well with others with ability to work unsupervised
  • Good organizational skills
  • Dependable and reliable with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, nights and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
