We have the right job for you…. We are currently on the look-out for an excellent team member to fill the position of Demi Chef for our new brand -  The Well Public House. Under the supervision of the Kitchen Manager our next Demi Chef will be responsible for the execution of menu item production, maintaining all company standards and through adherence to all safety and hygiene policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcome work environment for all employees.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Execute all production work in a timely manner
  • Must keep their individual production areas clean and sanitary as they go at all times
  • Maintain hygiene standards within guidelines that all food items are properly covered at all items
  • Ensure that all food in work station is covered and dated at all times
  • Ensure proper stock rotation in all areas of the kitchen and minimize wastage
  • Must always be well groomed and in proper uniform
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and sanitized after every use
  • Responsible for reporting all malfunctioning kitchen equipment
  • Ensure that all cook and hold temperatures are maintained as per company guidelines
  • Must assist in receiving goods and break them down
  • Organize and maintain all the shelves in freezers and coolers on a regular basis
  • Attends culinary meetings

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Culinary education
  • RED SEAL certification through ITA or current enrollment in the program a plus
  • Level 1 FoodSafe, Safe Food Handling or BASICS.Food Handler Certificate;
  • WHMIS; SIR Certificate
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely,   effective and service oriented communication
  • Minimum 2 years progressive culinary experience 

 Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The hours of work will be based on customer and business needs.
