Salary Range: $128,298-$184,428/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.

Cardiac Services BC (CSBC) is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating and funding adult tertiary cardiac care across the province.

The Senior Director, Provincial System Planning and Access reports to the Executive Director and is dually accountable to establish a provincial direction and approach to the delivery of cardiac care for their designated clinical program areas as well as to oversee system planning and access for all of CSBC. The Senior Director, Provincial System Planning and Access, leads the development of an overall access strategy for CSBC, working in close partnership with provincial medical and operational leaders to oversee system planning initiatives related to capacity/resource utilization.  Additional responsibilities include the assessment and introduction of new technologies and the improvement of procedural care access for patients within the province.

As part of a matrix structure, this role is responsible to provide provincial clinical program leadership and to set strategic direction for key service functions within CSBC. For clinical program leadership, the senior director’s primary focus is to partner with key stakeholders to establish province-wide integration of care and coordinated service delivery with an emphasis on quality, access and patient safety. In this role, the Senior Director leads the development of strategic partnerships and initiatives, system-wide project management, information management, and population-based evaluations. Within their strategic role overseeing directing the scope of core CSBC service functions, the Senior Director is responsible to develop and implement strategies that will span the full scope of CSBC’s clinical portfolio and extend beyond the cardiac community to be used (as appropriate) to support the development of standardized approaches across PHSA’s provincial clinical programs.

Qualifications:

A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in Health Sciences, Nursing, or Public/Population Health. Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in progressive management role in Health Care with experience implementing strategic initiatives.  Clinical experience in cardiac services, experience in health system program planning, data science, analytical methods, and/or clinical operations are considerable strong assets.  

Broad knowledge of health system program planning, data science, and analytical methods.  Demonstrated successful management of complex projects, change management, and utilization of key performance indicators. Demonstrated implementation of a complex, system-wide project, especially a project that required work with interdisciplinary groups and physicians is an asset for this position. Demonstrated “results-orientated” with skills related to relationships, influence management, and the ability to have working teams arrive at consensus. Demonstrated ability to work independently.
