Job Summary

 

Salary Range: $52,156 - $68,455 / year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.


Job Summary:

In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Provincial Health Services Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at PHSA, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.These are fully qualified working level positions.  Incumbents have directly related laboratory experience and familiarity with specific research programs and methodologies of the hiring laboratory.  They work under supervision and perform experiments by following established laboratory procedures.  They report to the Department Head, Principal Investigator, or designate.

We are seeking a highly-motivated, organized, driven individual with an interest or past experience with working with research animal in an academic setting. This entry level position will provide candidate with an opportunity to work and learning within an academic research environment where continual training and learning is greatly encouraged as part of the lab culture. The core focus of this position will be handling and working with research animal, as well as, conducting research experiments on animals; hands-on training will be provided to the successful candidate.

 

Candidate will become an integral part of animal research team, providing technical support on animal research for multiple core projects within the lab. Majority of the time will be spent in the animal research facility working with mice – mice handling experience prefered.


Qualifications:

A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from a recognized Bachelor’s program in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Bachelor of Science); plus two (2) years of recent related experience in a research laboratory.
