Technology Coordinator, Inter-Campus Operations

Reporting to the Manager, Technology and Operations the Technology Coordinator supports the operational delivery of the food service information system, which includes supporting the planning, analysis, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the system. The Technology Coordinator supports the maintenance of appropriate databases and associated services at all sites across Inter Campus Operations (ICO). The Technology Coordinator assists with changes required to the system to meet the day to day business requirements and future business needs. Provides internal PHSA staff training on the food service information system and assigns and maintains user groups, system documentation and education/training materials. Works in collaboration with PHSA Provincial Digital Health & Information Services’ (PDHIS) department, Nutrition Services’ department and other internal and external partners, as required.
What you’ll do
- Assists with the development, implementation, maintenance and integration of the food service information system for ICO.
- Supports the Manager, Menu and Food Information Systems to provide leadership, support and expertise to ICO’s users.
- Assists in the analysis and maintenance of database supporting system solutions by establishing quality checks and verification points for database accuracy and supervising data-entry personnel during the database building phase.
- Assists in training for all PHSA staff on the system modules and the management reports and tools to ensure optimal user interaction with the system, and develops appropriate end user training documentation.
- Maintains familiarity with industry developments and advancements and recommends course of action for their application within PHSA.
- Communicates and documents all system failures, unusual delays, financial impacts, and impacts to patient care.
- Works in collaboration with the ICO team, PHSA’s IMITS and vendors to provide system and database functionality support to end users, coordinates system troubleshooting and database management, Food Services equipment incident management, system upgrades, performing tests as required, system upgrades and enhancements prior to implementation.
- Assists with implementation and maintenance of system backups and emergency recovery procedures for the department.
- Participates in the creation and maintenance of departmental standard operating procedures relating to the management tools and system use.
- Assists in the evaluation of new products and services for potential application within ICO.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What you bring
Qualifications
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to certification in a recognized Food Services Management program and two (2) years' experience with food and nutrition information systems, preferably in a healthcare environment is required.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to successfully communicate solutions to technical issues. Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with technical, operational and vendor staff. User-level technical problem-solving skills. Strong customer service orientation. Ability to work with end-users of varying skill levels at all levels of the organization. Ability to utilize resources effectively. Positive, solution-oriented attitude in the workplace. Demonstrated knowledge of desktop and laptop computer hardware, basic Local Area Networks (Novell, Windows), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and BI and Tableau Analytical Software.

Job Type: Regular, Full-time
Salary Range: $65,884 - $94,708 /year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
