Accounts Payable Clerk (Temporary Full Time)

What you'll do:


  • Determining the tax status of goods purchased, codes invoices to General Ledger accounts and handles the general office routines and correspondence.  
  • Paying invoices, batches suppliers' invoices and enters them into the computer system, reconciles suppliers' statements.  
  • Communicating with suppliers and other hospital departments to maintain efficient processing of invoices
  • Processes invoices in a multi-fund environment, checking coding to ensure that invoices are paid from the correct fund.
  • Matches invoices to purchase orders, packing lists, verifies mathematical accuracy and prioritizes documents received in order to meet scheduled deadline dates.
  • Schedule, edits and prints cheques to suppliers as required.
  • Reconciles suppliers' statements and invoices.
  • Attends to all correspondence relating to accounts payable including, but not limited to, unpaid invoices and auditors' confirmations.
  • Identifies tax status of suppliers' invoices using reference material provided.
  • Allocates invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Prepares quick pay invoices into batches and inputs same into computer as required
  • Sorts and files suppliers' invoices.

What you bring:

  • Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized accounting course and two years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at 45 wpm.
