Occupational Therapist II Complex Chronic, BC Women’s


The Complex Chronic Diseases Program at BC Women's Hospital offers the opportunity to apply core occupational therapy skills and expertise in the psychosocial process groups we offer, supporting clients to build self-management skills based on their occupational performance issues.


In this role, you will:

  • Use your in-depth knowledge of biological, cognitive, behavioral, social and occupational sciences to provide multidimensional and expanded assessments and interventions.
  • Participate in program development, education and research.
  • Work in a client and family centered care model.
  • Develop and implement treatment programs for clients/patients, including developing innovative solutions to assessment and treatment issues.
  • Document information including clinical data, assessments, treatment plans, progress reports and outcomes.
  • Assess the need for specific client/patient equipment including home/lifestyle adaptations and assist clients/patients and families with obtaining needed equipment.
  • Establish and maintain supportive, collaborative and therapeutic relationships.
  • Develop and/or participate in client/patient and family education including establishing treatment/care programs.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary groups, teams, committees and programs.
  • Collaborate with senior personnel to develop research proposals and participate in research.
  • Help orient and train other staff and develop educational materials.
  • Respond to inquiries from the community regarding assessment and treatment protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities.
  • Instruct/supervise students.
  • Maintain and update your knowledge in occupational therapy.


About You


You have:

  • A Baccalaureate in Occupational Therapy and licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of BC.
  • Two (2) years of recent related experience including one (1) year with adults or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
  • 50 hours of post graduate course work/training related to additional procedures, techniques and job functions for complex, chronic diseases.
