Physiotherapist II, BC Children’s Hospital


Help children and youth improve their physical function, fitness and motor performance.


In this role, you will:

  • Work in a client and family centered care model
  • Develop functional solutions for the clients’ day-to-day problems
  • Use an in-depth knowledge of musculosketetal growth and development, biomechanics of human movement, kinesiology, pathology, cardiorespiratory function and neurology. 
  • Participate in program development, education and research.




As our successful candidate, you will:

  • Assess clients.
  • Apply advanced clinical knowledge and reasoning to developing and implementing treatment.
  • Document information including clinical data, assessments, treatment plans, progress reports and care plans.
  • Assess the need for client / patient equipment. Help clients / patients and families get needed equipment.
  • Communicate with clients / patients and families and/ or caregivers to optimize progress.
  • Develop and/ or participate in client/ patient and family education.



You have:

  • A Baccalaureate Degree in Physiotherapy or Rehabilitation Sciences and/or licensure with the College of Physical Therapists of BC.
  • Two (2) years of recent related experience including one year working with the designated patient population within BC Children’s Hospital or BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre,
  • Or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • 50 hours of post graduate course work/training related to additional procedures, techniques or job functions for assigned area.

  • Motivate and facilitate.
  • Provide effective consultation.
  • Develop educational programs and materials.
  • Operate related equipment.
