Manager, Internal Audit
Reporting directly to the Chief Internal Audit Officer, the Manager conducts and/or supervises all phases of the audit process (planning, fieldwork and reporting) to test that controls are in place and functioning as intended and business practices are effective, efficient, and compliant. Your expertise will have you leading a wide range of complex operational, financial, and investigative engagements and work to identify any existing or potential deficiencies in controls while ascertaining that operations are in compliance with applicable laws and policies. With a constant eye to established strategic plans and your own professional standards and ethics, you will guide principal decision-makers as they identify business, finance and control risks, and develop risk mitigation recommendations. The impact of your decisions will be far-reaching, as you recommend pragmatic, value-added improvements to existing policies and procedures, participate in the annual audit planning process, coordinate internal audit engagements, and actively take part in identifying evolving technological needs and implementing new systems to meet those needs.
This outstanding opportunity would be ideally suited for a skilled senior audit professional from the public sector or public practice seeking a new career challenge in a complex and rewarding health care setting. You will possess a broad understanding of audit standards, techniques, and approaches, as well as appreciate the importance of building rapport and solid working relationships with key stakeholders to create an environment of collaboration, shared responsibility and teamwork.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related concentration combined with an accounting designation (CPA-CA, or CPA-CGA)
- A minimum of 7 years of audit experience; public sector experience is strongly preferred
- The demonstrated ability to successfully communicate, both verbally and in writing, with people at all levels
- Supervisory/leadership experience
- A professional audit certification (e.g. CIA) is preferred
