As part of the provincial mental health services continuum, BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services (BCMHSUS) provides a diverse range of specialized, "one-of-a-kind" tertiary mental health and substance use services to adults across the province. These include services located at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital and six regional clinics, the Burnaby Centre for Mental Health & Addiction, and Heartwood Centre for Women. In addition to delivering these clinical services, BCMHSUS provides provincial leadership for system-wide improvement through its work in: health promotion and illness prevention; knowledge exchange; and research and academic teaching.

General Practitioner with Special Interest in Addiction
Recovery and Rehabilitation Program (Riverview grounds)
Regular Part Time up to 0.4 FTE

The Coast Recovery and Rehabilitation Program needs a family physician experienced in working with clients who have severe and enduring mental illness, chronic medical conditions, and substance-use disorders. The Physician would work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team in order to effectively plan and manage the clients through their recovery and rehabilitation.

You will use your expertise and background in treating complex clinical problems, supporting the ongoing education of our team and further the overall health of this population within the province of British Columbia. 


The interested physicians should be eligible for provisional or full licensure with CPSBC. Having fellowship with the College of Family Physicians is required. Physicians with formal addiction training/qualifications would be preferred.
