As part of the provincial mental health services continuum, BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services (BCMHSUS) provides a diverse range of specialized, "one-of-a-kind" tertiary mental health and substance use services to adults across the province. These include services located at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital and six regional clinics, the Burnaby Centre for Mental Health & Addiction, and Heartwood Centre for Women. In addition to delivering these clinical services, BCMHSUS provides provincial leadership for system-wide improvement through its work in: health promotion and illness prevention; knowledge exchange; and research and academic teaching.

Patient Transfer Support Worker
The Patient Transfer Support Worker provides safe and secure escorts to Forensic Psychiatric Hospital patients for daily appointments including activities and appointments both onsite and offsite; assumes custody of patients and ensures the safety of the public and employees of outside facilities during on-site and off-site escorts; Assists in controlling disturbances utilizing appropriate de-escalation and safe non harmful control techniques and as per established policies and procedures.
Education, Training and Experience
- Grade 10.
- Graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant or Care Attendant program, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Current CPR certificate.
- Valid BC Class IV Driver's license.

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
