BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre (BCW) is the only facility in British Columbia devoted primarily to the health of women, newborns and families. It provides a broad range of specialized women’s health services that address the health needs of women of all ages and backgrounds. BC Women’s is one of the largest maternity facilities in Canada, with over 7,500 births in 2005/6, and is both the major primary and secondary maternity services provider in the Lower Mainland and the cornerstone of the provincial tertiary care system. Breast Imaging Fellowship
An initiative of BC Women’s Hospital, an agency of the Provincial Health Services Authority

Vancouver, British Columbia

 

The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) is currently offering two 6 or 12 month Breast Imaging Fellowships to career minded Radiologists. This is your opportunity to establish a rewarding career and make a significant difference in the lives of women throughout British Columbia.

 

As you rotate through three complementary partner sites, BC Women’s Hospital, Dr. Linda Warren & Associates, and the BC Cancer Agency-Vancouver Centre, you will gain invaluable experience in screening and diagnostic mammography; using state-of-the-art digital equipment including tomosynthesis; breast ultrasound; breast MRI; fine needle aspirations; ultrasound, stereotactic and MRI guided biopsies; galactography; and pre-operative localization procedures.

 

This outstanding fellowship opportunity will build on the competencies you’ve gained through radiology residency training and enable you to become a competent specialist in the area of breast imaging. You will be called upon to participate in breast-related academic and clinical activities as well as teaching for radiology and surgical residents, and may be given the opportunity to take part in breast imaging related research projects.

 

To qualify, you must:

  • Have passed the Fellowship examination of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.

Applications will not be considered if the above 2 criteria are not met.

 

Preference will be given to those candidates committed to practice in British Columbia post Fellowship.
