Cascade Aerospace is looking for an experienced Senior Avionics Specialist to join our Engineering Team. As a Senior Avionics Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical avionics expertise to support all electronic and electrical designs and systems. The Specialist is the Subject Matter Expert in Avionics & Electrical Engineering.   • Generally apply the principles and practices of system engineering and project management to all work assignments;
  • Plan and conduct regular engineering team meetings and present technical and schedule progress.  Identify issues and risks;
  • Assign action items and risk/issue mitigation activities and track to closure;
  • Support all internal management reviews and audits;
  • Support all customer technical and management reviews and audits;
  • Prepare work statements and provide cost estimates for modification work;
  • Design and develop engineering documentation with substantiation and justification for modification;
  • Preparation of engineering calculations and /or tests and related reports;
  • Liaise with Airworthiness Authority and obtain certification for modification;
  • Provide engineering support and liaison for other departments and customers;
  • Preparation of repairs, processes and procedures as required;
  • Provide Maintenance documentation support;
  • Liaise with manufacturers/suppliers;
  • Provide technical liaison for work being accomplished by outside agencies;
  • Conduct technical investigations to determine the cause of avionics issues;
  • Maintaining a knowledge of Transport Canada and Federal Aviation Administration regulations affecting area of expertise.


  • Provide Cascade Aerospace with avionics expertise and support with all avionic and electrical design and applications, as applied to Transport and Utility class aircraft;
  • Prepare or review technical requirements documents, system/ground/flight test procedures and reports, certification reports;
  • Ensure modifications are certifiable by Transport Canada and FAA;
  • Integrate the development activity of avionics systems with internal and external groups as well as participating in meetings and reviews with certification authorities;
  • Thorough understanding of function, integration & certification of transport aircraft electrical and avionics systems;
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal & written;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Service quality, leadership & conflict resolution skills would be beneficial;
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook & MS Project;
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills;
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed to meet demanding deadlines.


  • Degree in Electrical/Avionics Engineering or Diploma in Electrical/Avionics Technology.
  • Experience in Project Management preferable. 
  • 15+ years’ experience in aircraft Electrical/Avionics engineering including certification activities.
