BCEHS and CUPE 873 have worked together on a solution to reduce the length of time it takes to fill vacancies in remote stations as per the MOA: Expedited posting process for remote stations.
BCEHS intends to fill 3 (three) vacancies for Regular Part-Time Mixed Shift Scheduled Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) in Sointula.

All applicants, including current RPT employees in Sointula who want to take part in the shuffle process, must apply to the posting AND submit the Post Shuffle Preference Form to ensure their shift pattern and platoon preference is considered by seniority when assigning positions. Station shuffles will happen simultaneously with the callout offering process. In-post applicants who have submitted a post shuffle preference form will not be permitted to rescind their application or decline the new position after the close of the posting.
The application process consists of two (2) steps - Both steps must be completed by the closing date of the posting of October 20, 2026, for successful submission: To complete the application process all applicants must: Apply to the posting and submit a completed Post Shuffle Preference form for the purpose of shift pattern and platoon selection.
- If an Employee applies to the posting but does not submit a completed Post Shuffle Preference form, the applicant will not be considered as an applicant for the posting.
- If an Employee submits a completed Post Shuffle Preference form, but does not apply to the posting, the applicant will not be considered as an applicant for the posting.

The Provincial Posting Post Shuffle preference forms for this posting must be received by Talent Acquisition by the posting closing date of October 20, 2026.
- Please note preferences may not be altered after the close of the posting or during offer/acceptance.
- Forms submitted to managers, paramedic supervisors or other areas will not be accepted.
- Each form submitted supersedes all previously submitted post shuffle forms for the posting number indicated.
- You may indicate several preferences in one form; however, you will be contacted based on your highest preference (from top to bottom) and your preferred platoon (from left to right).
- Employees must submit a separate post shuffle preference form for each posting. One (1) form for multiple postings will be deemed invalid.
Article 13.01(f) Posts of Less Than Twenty-Five Full-Time Equivalent will be used only for net new vacancies as per the MOA in these stations until such time they are filled, ie. positions with no previous incumbent, to increase opportunities for local staff and reduce time to fill such vacancies. Employees considered local under this clause include on-call and Regular Part time staff attached to the station (primary operator).
Vacancies will be offered in order of seniority in the following order:
- Post-probationary PCP-qualified internal applicants
- Probationary PCP-qualified internal applicants
- External PCP-qualified applicants
- Post-probationary EMR-qualified internal applicants
- Probationary EMR-qualified internal applicants
- Other externals applicants
Employees will then have six (6) hours to accept or decline the position. No response means a decline.
If an employee declines a position, they will remain in their current position. If an employee declines, the position will continue to be called/offered on.
If an employee later rescinds from an accepted position, the position will remain unfilled and will be placed in the next round of provincial posting.
Please ensure your EMALB and ICBC licenses are up to date before the closing date of the posting. To ensure you are paid at the proper rate and scheduled correctly, you are required to email licenses@bcehs.ca copies of any EMALB and ICBC license upgrades, renewals or restrictions on your licenses. It will remain the employee’s responsibility to submit their own license updates to licenses@bcehs.ca. License renewals need to be submitted at least five (5) days prior to license expiry.
Please note, employees accepting any Regularized position under the Collective Agreement will not be entitled to rescind an accepted offer after 61 days of accepting the offer. Regular and Irregular employees may only rescind within the 61 days after acceptance. You will also be required to report to your new position within the 61 days of acceptance. Employees that rescind an offer at any time are not guaranteed to be placed back into their current/prior position. On-call employees are required to report on the earliest available start date. As per the , any eligible employees that do not have a PCP license and who accept full-time or regular part-time PCP-level paramedic positions following the ratification of the 2022-2025 Collective Agreement will be required to successfully complete paid PCP training as a condition of employment along with a three (3) year return of service. You will be required to enroll and complete education at the earliest possible opportunity once approved for employer-funded education. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure they meet the school’s pre-requisite requirements for enrollment of PCP program. Employees are expected to review their obligations around funded PCP education ahead of time so that they are prepared to decide when contacted. Please refer to the for more information.
