Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Receiver BCCA performs a variety of stores duties relating to the receipt, storage and dispersal of stores inventory.

Duties/Accountabilities:

1.Signs in and logs incoming courier delivers; arranges for delivery to, or pick up by, the requesting department.

2.Arranges for shipment of courier items by phoning appropriate dispatch office, completing waybills and other documents in accordance with written guidelines and logging shipment.  Packages items for shipping when required.

3.Enters stock receipts and withdrawals into computer.

4.Performs periodic physical counts of inventory items as required.

5.Edits inventory information within the computer according to established procedures.

6.Resolves discrepancies in inventory value through computer reports and paper trail checks.

7.Places stock in pre-assigned locations and rotates stock according to established procedures.

8.Regularly inspects stock items for expired stock, pulls expired stock and makes necessary edits in computer according to procedures.

9.Ensures shelf labels for stock items are complete and correct.

10.Picks up stock items and supplies from local external sources when required (e.g. Vancouver Hospital).

11.Delivers purchased goods to user departments according to procedure.

12.Notes inventory shortages and refers inventory level problems to the warehouse supervisor.

13.Assembles, issues and delivers supplies/stock items on a top-up or requisition basis, and completes appropriate documentation by checking stock levels against predetermined quotas, adding stock as needed and recording addition.

14.Receives incoming shipments from suppliers and checks goods and packing lists against the purchase order for accuracy.  Communicates with suppliers regarding shortages, damages and returns as required.

15.Receives telephone and in-person inquiries; collects information and transmits messages as required.

16.Photocopies materials such as material safety data sheets and distributes to the user areas either by inter-office mail or in person.

17.Files related documentation as required.

19.Maintains neatness and cleanliness of stores and receiving areas.

20.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience

• Grade 12 plus one (1) year recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
