Job Summary

Salary Range: $49,445-$64,897/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.


Job Summary:

As such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, Employee Records and Benefits (ERB), the Assistant is responsible for providing confidential administrative support to the ERB team by sorting mail/faxes, keying benefit and personal data changes, and maintaining personnel files. The Assistant prepares verification of employment letters, processes address changes and provides timely and knowledgeable customer service.

Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Assists the ERB Team by maintaining/scanning files (active and terminated), and processing file requests from Lawyers, Human Resources and Labour Relations.  
  • Responds to employee inquiries related to job data and benefits in a timely manner.  Logs, triages, and escalates inquiries as required.  
  • Prepares new hire/transfer packages, mails out letters, processes name/address changes, keys benefit coverage in the HRIS system and liaises with benefit carriers and government agencies as required.    
  • Provides administrative support by preparing verification of employment letters, sorting mail/faxes, managing the procurement and stocking of office supplies.  
  • Submits purchase orders and tracks expenses/invoices.

Qualifications:

  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to the completion of a recognized administrative or Human Resource diploma and one (1) year of experience in an administrative or Human Resource position.  
  • Effectively utilizes verbal and written communication skills when obtaining and providing information and communicating electronically.
  • Skilled in the use of computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database programs (MS Office).
