Role Summary

The Research Intern position in the Clinical Trials & Research Department at BC Cancer - Victoria provides an opportunity for students who have recently completed an undergraduate degree to gain real-world clinical research.

 

Salary

  • 18-month full-time position
  • $22.50- $25 per hour plus vacation & benefits

 

The Research Intern will support BC Cancer - Victoria's clinical trials and research program:

  • Enhance program availability to patients
  • Consent patients to research studies
  • Process patient reimbursements
  • Maintain study records and files
  • Liaise with study investigators & sponsors
  • Prepare specimen collection kits
  • Assist with audits & monitoring
  • Conduct literature searches
  • Perform chart reviews
  • Participate in data collection & analysis
  • Communicate study findings
  • Other administrative tasks as required

 

Qualifications

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. sciences, social sciences, healthcare, or communications).
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in an intermediate Microsoft Office environment.
  • Statistical knowledge an asset.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • Ability to work within an environment of changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn.
