|
Location: British Columbia (onsite required) Term: 1-year position, with the possibility of renewal
An academic research program at the BC Cancer Research Institute is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Post-Doctoral Fellow with an interest in cancer epidemiology to join its team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative research that advances cancer prevention, epidemiologic methods, and evidence for public health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to epidemiologic research projects focused on cancer prevention, early detection, and population health
- Apply advanced quantitative approaches, including causal inference and life course epidemiologic modeling, among others.
- Conduct data management, statistical analysis, and interpretation using cohort, clinical, administrative, or survey data relevant to cancer outcomes.
- Develop manuscripts, conference presentations, and other scholarly outputs that advance evidence in cancer epidemiology and prevention.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, biostatisticians, scientists, and public health partners.
Qualifications:
- PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a related discipline
- Strong data manipulation and analytic skills using statistical programming software (e.g., SAS or R)
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly and logically to produce high quality publications
- Demonstrated scientific rigour and the ability to synthesize and summarize epidemiological evidence
- Experience with large databases and cancer epidemiology
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
