The Recovery and Wellness Team supporting BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) is inviting expressions of interest for a Temporary Business Analyst (4 months or until the return of the incumbent).
This role focuses on data analysis, reporting, and project initiatives that inform operational decision-making and support the ongoing development and improvement of HR programs and services.
Role Summary
- Extracting, cleaning, and analyzing data from multiple sources to identify trends, generate insights, and support reporting and operational decision-making.
- Developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present key insights and support leadership and operational teams.
- Researching and drafting project documents, reports and presentations with accuracy and completeness.
- Prioritizing and implementing project timelines and work plans while assisting with clarification of project objectives to ensure deliverables are met.
- Identifying issues and problem-solving to remove barriers to successful completion of projects, with an emphasis on collaboration with HR colleagues and key partners.
- Supporting key partners during change and implementation activities by troubleshooting issues, testing alternatives, and providing instruction or training as required.
- Organizing and leading meetings with working groups, partners, and project teams, and managing actions arising from these discussions.
- Tracking project progress and milestones according to project plan and providing timely updates and reports on project status, key metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to the manager or lead.
- Supporting the development, implementation, and documentation of HR policies, processes, education materials, and evaluation frameworks, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), reporting guides, and user instructions.
- Performing ad-hoc duties/HR operational responsibilities as directed by the manager or lead.
What you bring
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate, clean, and validate large datasets using complex formulas and advanced data functions.
- Experience using Power BI or other data visualization tools to develop dashboards and reporting that communicate insights effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into insights that support operational decision-making.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with partners and communicate complex information clearly.
- Experience providing user support, advice, and training related to reporting tools, systems, or operational processes.
- Familiarity with Human Resources processes or data would be considered an asset.

Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time, Non-Contract
Typical Hiring Range: $69,218 - $84,826
The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan.
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
