Job Summary
|
Salary Range: $74,618-$107,264/year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
Role Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Workplace Experience, the Advisor collaborates with team members from the Workplace Experience team and key partners across the organization to develop, implement, and evaluate programs that enhance onboarding, recognition, employee voice and off boarding. The Advisor plays a pivotal role in the development and implementation of inclusive, safe, supportive and rewarding programs and services that align with the organization’s mission and values. This work supports employee experience and the creation of team cultures where people can thrive, remain engaged and stay. The Advisor provides leadership and direction to team members by offering guidance and support in situations requiring interpretation or decision making. The role supervises staff, coordinates workflow and workload of the team, and works closely with the lead on recruitment and performance management, including conducting performance reviews. Coordinates training and orientation of team members as needed.
Key Accountablities:
- Leads and implements consistent and inclusive employee experience programs and practices that are aligned to the PHSA employer brand.
- Collaborates with colleagues and key partners to develop safe, inclusive and consistent programs and services.
- Reviews and improves the process to collect employee feedback at all stages of their employee journey, ensuring that information is shared and used to drive change.
- Creates tools, resources and supports for leaders that elevate employee experience.
- Acts as a subject matter expert to business leadership, managers, and other key partners on employee experience strategies and practices.
- Monitors and reviews programs to identify progress, gaps, overlaps, and opportunities for alignment with other organizational initiatives.
- Continuously improves programs through participant feedback, key partner feedback, and leadership consultation.
- Analyzes workforce data to inform recommendations and program improvements.
- Develops and implements a variety of methods to collect employee feedback and ideas; maintains data integrity and prepares annual action plans based on data.
- Researches and evaluates technology and tools to enhance employee experience, in collaboration with other areas of the People and Culture portfolio.
- Acts as a resource to client groups by providing input towards employee experience activities, strategies, and client-specific needs.
- Provides leadership, guidance and supervision to staff using effective leadership techniques (e.g., coaching, mentoring, skills and leadership development and performance management, including performance reviews). Participate in staffing decisions related to recruitment, retention, discipline, and termination.
- Manages the activities of staff and resources to ensure effective utilization, adherence to standards of quality, and effective and timely service delivery. Provides training and orientation for new team members.
- Drafts and participates in the development of the budget, produces recommendations, monitors expenses, reports on variances, and recommends and implements remedial action, in collaboration with the Manager.
- Engages and leads staff by creating a work environment that motivates and inspires teamwork that delivers high employee satisfaction. Establishes clear definitions of responsibility for each employee, ensures adherence to efficiency, quality, and customer service standards, and provides coaching and guidance, and reviews workload assignments. Fosters a team culture of mutual respect and trust.
- Partner cross functionally with colleagues, partners and operational leaders to introduce new programs and offerings that enhance engagement and workplace experience across PHSA.
- Research leading practice and current thinking in areas such as employee engagement, recognition, employee voice, onboarding and employee experience. Use this research to inform program development, suggest courses of action and update existing programs.
- Prepares and compiles documents, reports, training materials and support resources for internal and external partners. ; attends/chairs meetings as required. Assessing and responding to the needs of clients in a timely and efficient way.
- Assists with the creation of internal communications designed to share information and knowledge related to key programs and initiatives under the identified mandate areas of scope through a variety of mechanisms (newsletter, email, website etc.).
- Monitors and administers designated Intranet pages.
Qualifications:
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Human Resources or related field plus five (5) years of recent, related experience in creating and driving integrated marketing campaigns.
- Strong communicator (oral and written) with ability to build collaborative and trusting relationships with colleagues organization-wide.
- Ability to design, implement and evaluate employee-focused programs or initiatives.
- Experience facilitating feedback collection (e.g., surveys) and converting insights into actionable recommendations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate workflows, and deliver high-quality work in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with digital tools and platforms used to enhance employee experience; familiarity with HR systems or engagement tools is an asset.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Experience in the healthcare or broader public sector is an asset.
