Job Summary

Access Administrator, BC Health Workday

The BC Health Workday Program is a provincial initiative with seven participating BC health organizations (FHA, IHA, ISLH, NHA, PHC, PHSA and VCHA). The program began in 2023 to implement a Human Capital Management System (HCMS) software solution as part of the BC Health Human Resources Strategy to transform HR services. Designed by Workday Canada, the new provincial platform will replace existing HR and payroll systems in the health organizations with a single, unified technical system that will standardize and modernize HR and payroll services. It is a significant transformation in BC and is vital to the sustainability of BC’s health system.

 

The Access Administrator supports the BC Health Workday program deployment by managing security assignments for users, validating security roles, and maintaining compliance with privacy and audit requirements. This role ensures access controls are properly designed, tested, and documented to enable secure, compliant, and sustainable system operations.

What you’ll do

  1. Manages the assignment and maintenance of security roles, conducts routine access reviews, and supports audit readiness by ensuring compliance with privacy, security, and segregation of duties requirements.
  2. Execute security-related test cases, validate access controls across various scenarios, and collaborate with project teams to troubleshoot and resolve security configuration issues.
  3. Develop and maintain audit reports all user security, access models, and control matrices to support knowledge transfer, post-go-live support, and audit transparency.
  4. Partner with the Security Administrator to ensure security configuration changes adhere to governance processes, and escalate deviations, risks, or required decisions as appropriate.
  5. Monitors and analyzes access security on an ongoing basis, making or recommending adjustments to mitigate risks and ensure continued compliance.
  6. Contributes to the continuous improvement of security administration practices by identifying gaps, recommending process enhancements, and adopting best practices.
  7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

What you bring

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized degree or diploma program in Computer Science, three years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Core Competencies

  • Brings an understanding of the Indigenous specific racism and the broader systemic racism that exists in the colonial health care structure and has demonstrated initiatives in breaking down barriers and ensuring a safe environment ensuring a sense of belonging to all and informed by Indigenous Cultural Safety.
  • Awareness of social, economic, political and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments (the Declaration Act, the Declaration Action Plan, TRC, IPS, Remembering Keegan, etc.).
