As agreed upon between BCEHS and CUPE 873 for this specific posting, positions will be offered in seniority as follows:

 

    • Post-probationary PCP-qualified internal applicants
    • Probationary PCP-qualified internal applicants
    • External PCP-qualified applicants
    • Post-probationary EMR-qualified internal applicants
    • Probationary EMR-qualified internal applicants
    • Other externals applicants  

EMR employees will be selected for this vacancy in accordance with the Collective Agreement. 

 

BCEHS intends to fill 31 (thirty-one) vacancies for Full-time Regularly Scheduled Primary Care Paramedics (PCP) in Vancouver Post.


Any successful applicant who has not yet completed VPOP will be required to attend the VPOP classes scheduled for March 5–6 or March 9–10, depending on the platoon.

 

Please note, employees accepting any Regular position under the Collective Agreement will not be entitled to rescind an accepted offer after 61 days of accepting the offer.  Regular and Irregular employees may only rescind within the 61 days after acceptance.  Employees that rescind an offer at any time are not guaranteed to be placed back into their current/prior position.

 

 

As per the https://intranet.bcehs.ca/mlink/file/MjIyNw?type=attachment , any eligible employees that do not have a PCP license and who accept full-time or regular part-time PCP-level paramedic positions following the ratification of the 2022-2025 Collective Agreement will be required to successfully complete paid PCP training as a condition of employment along with a three (3) year return of service. You will be required to enroll and complete education at the earliest possible opportunity once approved for employer-funded education.  It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure they meet the school’s pre-requisite requirements for enrollment of PCP program.

As per your employment contract: You are required to email licenses@bcehs.ca copies of any license upgrades, renewals or restrictions on your license. It will remain the employee’s responsibility to submit their own license updates to licenses@bcehs.ca. License renewals need to be submitted at least five (5) days prior to license expiry.
