Any successful candidate who has not yet completed the ACP Transition to Practice (ACP Orientation) would be required to attend the ACP Transition to Practice in Vancouver starting on March 2, 2026

Employees will be selected for this vacancy in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Please note, employees accepting any Regular position under the Collective Agreement will not be entitled to rescind an accepted offer after 61 days of accepting the offer.  Regular and Irregular employees may only rescind within the 61 days after acceptance.  Employees that rescind an offer at any time are not guaranteed to be placed back into their current/prior position.

*PLEASE NOTE*

If the number of qualified applicants is insufficient to fill the posted vacancies, the applicant list from this posting will be utilized to select candidates for training as per Article 13.05 of the Collective Agreement. All qualified and unqualified applicants are encouraged to apply.

Preference for these training positions at an EMALB approved training provider will be given first to unqualified applicants within the post, followed by unqualified applicants from outside of the post. The selection process will adhere to the criteria outlined in section 13.05(b) to determine eligibility for training.

Applicants must successfully apply and be offered training in one of the approved ACP Programs, or be currently enrolled in the one of the approved ACP Programs. All pre-requisite courses must be undertaken in the employee’s own time and at their own expense prior to the beginning of ACP training. A successful applicant must apply for the JIBC EMA Education fund or Columbia Paramedic Academy Foundation to cover the cost of the expenses associated with the ACP Program, including, but not limited, to tuition, textbooks, and uniforms.

Successful applicants will be posted to Vancouver post as an Irreg ACP trainee upon acceptance of a training position. Upon completion of the ACP Program, and licensure, they will enter into ACP Orientation as an Irregularly scheduled employee on probation.
