Note: The Hopcott warehouse location will be the incumbent’s home work location.

The incumbent may be required to work at other lower mainland warehouse locations, based on operational needs, that include the following worksites. Travel required, as needed.

The Langley Fulfillment Centre (referred to as the Langley Campus and consisting of two buildings):

Job Summary:

As such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.  

The Warehouse Logistics Supervisor oversees stores activities such as shipping, receiving, distribution, and transport in a central stores/warehouse for a designated service area and supervises designated staff.

Duties/Accountabilities:

  • Oversees stores activities such as shipping, receiving, distribution, and transport in a central stores/warehouse and liaises with various facilities/sites and departments regarding discrepancies, work flow and other stores related activities.
  • Supervises designated staff by performing duties such as scheduling and coordinating work assignments, providing work direction, evaluating employee performance, and determining related training and orientation requirements.  Interviews and makes recommendations to Team Lead for recruitment.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures; provides input regarding budget items and expenditures designated area; oversees and updates standards and procedures.
  • Provides input to the Team Lead regarding the planning and implementation of new stores systems and services.
  • Maintains inventory records and counts; advises when established re-order points are reached and makes recommendations for changes to stock items and minimum/maximum levels to other as required; liaises with the inventory analyst and others to monitor inventory utilization and related issues such as backorders, cycle counts, receiving issues, etc.
  • Plans, coordinates and participates in physical inventory checks and cycle counts as required. Reconciles count discrepancies.
  • Maintains security and safety standards in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Maintains related records and statistics and processes departmental requisitions as required.  
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Grade 12 plus three (3) years’ recent related experience including one year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
